UCSF Alumni Weekend 2026

Upon arrival at UCSF’s Mission Bay campus, check in at the front entrance of the William J. Rutter Center, receive your name badge and program book, and find an Alumni Weekend staff member to assist you with any questions.

Join us to honor this year’s outstanding alumni who are making transformative impacts across health care, research, education, and community service. This annual brunch brings together distinguished alumni from all UCSF schools and departments, each recognized for their achievements, dedication, and contributions to the health sciences.
Connect with the honorees, hear their inspiring stories, and celebrate the breadth of talent and commitment that defines our alumni community.

University of California alumni who previously were involved in student-run clinics will come together to reflect on a legacy of community care — the enduring impact of UC’s Chicano Health Movement. Rooted in service to Latinx communities, student clinics were formative spaces where hands-on care, accountability to community, and collective leadership shaped alumni who now lead in health equity as clinicians, researchers, and advocates. Open to all Alumni Weekend attendees, this session explores how these early clinic experiences created health equity leaders — and why sustaining student/community clinics remains essential to advancing equitable care for future generations.

Comunidad con Cafecito is a come-and-go experience designed to complement Saturday’s UCSF Talks. Open to all Alumni Weekend attendees, this informal gathering invites alumni to pause, connect, and reflect between sessions while remaining engaged with the broader program.

Guests are welcome to enjoy coffee and pastries while exploring curated materials highlighting Latinx student initiatives, community clinics, and leadership pathways across UCSF. Hosted by Lina Mendez, PhD, executive director of Resource Centers for Climate and Belonging at UCSF, the space offers opportunities for conversation and discovery.

Whether you're stepping out briefly or lingering between talks, Comunidad con Cafecito is designed to support movement and community-building while keeping Saturday’s UCSF Talks at the center of Alumni Weekend activities.

Discover how UCSF faculty members, clinicians, alumni, and students use podcasts to connect with global audiences and share insights on the health sciences. This session highlights the stories, science, and discoveries that make UCSF-grown podcasts like PT Path Podcast unique and representative of the UCSF community.

Experience powerful, personal stories from UCSF scholarship recipients and emerging leaders. Inspired by The Moth, a nonprofit organization that celebrates the art and craft of live storytelling to honor shared human experience, students reflect on defining moments that shaped their callings in science and medicine. Guided by storyteller Corey Rosen, this uplifting program will celebrate curiosity, purpose, and the next generation of changemakers.

Join us for fun, food, and friendship at the Alumni Weekend Closing Reception! This lively gathering invites all UCSF alumni to connect, share stories, and celebrate their shared experiences. With live music, hors d'oeuvres, and an ambiance that blends UCSF’s history with the energy of today’s campus life, this reception is the perfect opportunity to make new connections and reconnect with old friends.

Celebrate with food and drinks graduates from the classes of 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001, 2006, and 2011 at a special Milestones Reunion gathering. (All alumni are welcome.*)
