Co-Director, Pediatric Global Health Scholars Pathway
Dr. Kortz specializes in pediatric critical care and is a core faculty member of UCSF’s Institute for Global Health Sciences (IGHS). She leads IGHS’s Affiliate Program, which builds community and identifies resources to support faculty members working on global health equity issues. Dr. Kortz co-chairs the global health subgroup of the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators (PALISI) Network and leads a global study of pediatric critical care in resource-limited settings. She earned bachelor’s degrees in neurobiology, Spanish, and literature, and her medical degree on the global health track, from the University of Washington. Dr. Kortz completed a pediatric residency and a critical care medicine fellowship at Stanford University and a master’s degree in global health sciences at UCSF.
