About me
Ms. Birbo, a fourth-year student in the School of Dentistry, was born and raised in the Bay Area, alongside her older and younger sisters, by Ethiopian immigrant parents. After earning her bachelor’s degree in integrative biology from UC Berkeley and completing the UCSF Post-Baccalaureate Program, she has spent her time at UCSF dedicated to research, outreach, and leadership. Key roles Ms. Birbo has held include president of the Student National Dental Association and co-president of the American Association of Women Dentists. Her commitment has earned her prestigious honors, including the UC President’s Award for Outstanding Student Leadership. Ms. Birbo remains passionate about teaching and mentoring through her roles as a chief at the Pre-Doctorate Clinic and peer tutor in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences. After graduation, she will remain part of the UCSF family as she begins her orthodontics residency.
